Training~!

In the Warrior Clans, there is much need for fighting; such as other clan cats, or even invaders, like badgers, foxes, and dogs. Since I did a lot of hunting during these few days, Whitestorm wanted to improve my fighting skills. I want to be the best warrior in the Clan; even though I am already famous for catching prey for ThunderClan.
In ThunderClan, we apprentices practice our fighting skills in the sandy hallow; where we can't get hurt that easily since the ground is very soft with smoothed sand and are bordered by soft undergrowth.
Today I practiced with Graypaw, and Firepaw. (Ravenpaw couldn't come because of one of his many injuries) Lionheart and Whitestorm trained the fighting techniques, such as the Leap-and-hold technique with the Drop-and-roll technique. Graypaw also practiced the front blow attack with Firepaw, who also did the upright lock, which needs a lot of strength and speed.(on Graypaw) This is how you do it- it is a final, crushing move on an already weakend opponent. You rear up on your back legs, and bring full weight down on the opponent. If the enemy does the same, wrestle and flip him under you. This move makes you vulnerable to the belly rake, a move that rakes your belly, so you have to be careful. Firepaw didn't do it THAT HARD, so Graypaw was okay.
Even though Firepaw and Graypaw did pretty good, Whitestorm said that I was one of the best- since I did the scruff shake, which is a move that throws the opponent out and shocked. Since I was the biggest apprentice, I could have done it with only some effort; while the other 2 apprentices had to use almost all their energy to do it. I also did the Back Kick and the Belly Rake. The Back Kick is a technique that is very explosive, since you literally 'kick' the opponent with your hind legs- which are more powerful than the front legs. The Belly Rake almost every time stops the fight, since the belly is one of the most vulnerable spot for cats. Ha ha ha.. I feel so good!!!
I hope I learn more fighting techniques- like the Killing Bite, Teeth Grip, and MORE!!!! I'm going to ask Whitestorm the first thing in the morning tomorrow!!! :)

Hunting Patrol!

GROWWL!!! Ugghh... my stomach is getting hungrier and hungrier every minute. I'm going to ask Whitestorm, my mentor, if I can go out on a hunting patrol today morning, right now, so I can eat. In the Clans, there is a rule- 'A warrior shall NOT eat before the weak has eaten- feed the Clan first,'. So while I'm doing the hunting patrol, I cannot eat until I bring prey to the Clan.
I'm going over to Dustpaw to ask if he wants to hunt- since Whitestorm said YES to the hunting patrol.Oh well... Dustpaw's going on a boarding patrol- I guess I have to go alone. We ARE getting low on prey, since for these days we have a lot of starving queens. (Queens are she-cats who are giving birth to kits)So I guess I have to hunt at least 4-5 preys so I can eat more.
When I first went in the welcoming forest, I instantly smelled the waft of prey. I pinpointed the smell- it was coming from the bushes on my right! As I dropped instinctively into a stalking crouch, a great strategy that only ThunderClan cats use,I drew closer to my prey. With each step, as I got closer to my prey, I suddenly realized that it was a vole, actually a water vole. Voles are pretty tasty once you get used to it, since it tastes like ugly rubber on the first time. Anyways, I quickly darted up to my prey, snatched it in my jaws when it tired to run away, and killed it with one sharp bite.
As I buried the dead water vole (We cats bury it so no one can take it, and also we can find it later on), my nose twiched again, telling me that I had found another prey; but this smell was stronger. I stalked over to the undergrowth near my left, I strained to listen for the prey's heartbeat, but only to be surprised that there were three heartbeats- those whom only belong to the mice.I stepped lightly toward the mice, since a mouse can sense your pawsteps before it smells you. I swiftly caught and killed the 3 mice; and I thanked StarClan for its life and for our prey. (StarClan is a Clan where the Warrior ancestors live) I went back to the camp and deposited my 3 mice, and again, headed out for the forest to fetch my buried water vole.
Today's hunting day was pretty good, since I caught 3 mice in a row! That was one of my 2 accomplishments as an apprentice so far. I felt proud of myself, and walked with my tail up high in the air when I brought back my 4 preys. Now I am enjoying a good meal of a chaffinch, since I did excellent in today's hunting.

GATHERING!!! :)

Tonight, there is a Gathering that happens every full moon- which means that the 4 Clans meet and share their good/bad news. The Gathering takes place at the Fourtrees, which has 4 giant oak trees and 1 very high rock that the leaders stand up and announce. In the Gathering, before the Clan Leaders speak, we are allowed to speak and chat with other Clan cats, since it is forbidden to fight in a Gathering. This is my second Gathering and I'm looking forward to it SO MUCH that I can't even walk properly!
I laughed SO MUCH from looking at Firepaw, Graypaw, and Ravenpaw when Dustpaw and I told them that we are going to go to the Gathering tonight. Firepaw's face showed intense envy- since he never went to a Gathering before. Ravenpaw was just shrugging, but looked disappointed when he went back to the apprentice's den, where we sleep. Graypaw's reaction was the best- he sputtered angrily and went stamping back into the apprentices' den as well. Ha ha ha... that was funny. Dustpaw and I felt really proud of ourselves.
When we (Dustpaw and I) entered the Gathering, we were surged up with energy so high that I accidentally bumped into Dustpaw, who was right ahead of me. I saw all the other cats, such as Mistyfoot,Stonefur, Crookedstar, and MORE!!! I saw them before- but since I got to see them again, I felt very special to be in this Gathering.
I met my other Clan cats friends- such as Whitepaw from WindClan and Silverpaw from RiverClan. Each Gathering, if we were all there, we usually told each other stories or go to the elder's group and listen to their tales. But tonight, I told them about Firepaw; as the new kittypet apprentice. They both jeered with me- since nobody likes kittypets and their soft ways of living. But I told them that Firepaw was better than other kittypets because he even knows how to hunt for himself!
Ha! It was so fun at the Gathering that I was almost sad that Firepaw, Graypaw, and Ravenpaw missed it. Oh well... I don't actually care about them. I really don't know why Graypaw keeps on spending time with Firepaw- he's so BORING! Anyways, when I got back to the ThunderClan camp, the other apprentices were asleep and I just let them sleep soundlessly.

A New Arrival

UGGHH!!! A new cat arrived this afternoon- a KITTYPET!!! (A kittypet is a cat that humans have for their pet)His kittypet name was Rusty, but now since he became a part of the clan, his apprentice name became Firepaw because of his orange pelt.
When Firepaw first came, he had a collar on him- and he seemed so proud of himself to be in ThunderClan. Then Longtail, a warrior, tried to take the collar off, and Firepaw bit him in the ear. I guess other cats now think that he's pretty okay- but I think totally the opposite about that. He is arrogant, ignorant, and always seems proud of himself. Such a mouse-brained cat. He's even a KITTYPET! We Warriors do NOT allow such cats as kittypets to join in our clans- since we believe that warriors have warrior blood, which makes us stand out. Firepaw, on the other hand, does not posess the skill that we Warriors have. I wonder why Graystripe likes being with him- he's no fun, and also being a kittypet. Maybe its because he met him the first time- he knows Firepaw better than any of us right now. I really can't believe that we have a kittypet in our clan!

About my awesome and the best clan- THUNDERCLAN

HI... I'm Sandpaw, an apprentice in the best clan in the forest- THUNDERCLAN! I am 7 moons old, and I have been apprenticed for about 1 moon. I like hunting better than gaurding the camp- since I am good at hunting and stalking. ThunderClan, where I live, is the best clan to live among the 4 other clans.
I'll tell you about our clan. ThunderClan, in my opinion, is the best clan to live in besides the 3 others. The other clans are RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan. None of them are good as ThunderClan- which has deciduous woods, plenty of prey, and the thickest bushes that you've ever seen. The trees here are totally green- and keep us in shade whenever we are hot. There are also PLENTY of prey here that we definitely enjoy, such as mice, voles, squirrels, rabbit, wood pigeon, magpies, starling, and thrushes. I like mice the best- since they don't have that much fur like squirrels do and aren't all like slippery like the voles.
